The Eric Green/Transgender Lawsuit

A transgender New Yorker has filed a $10 million sex assault suit against an NFL player – and in a separate action is also suing the city, saying she was abused and humiliated by cops.
Angelina Mavilia’s legal action against cornerback Eric Green alleges he forcibly sodomized her.
The two met in a Scottsdale, Arizona casino in early 2009 when Green still played for the Arizona Cardinals, the 38-year-old East Side woman says in papers filed in federal court in Florida, where Green was born and lives.
They went back to his condo, where Green, 27, assaulted her, she charges. He then got “extremely agitated and threatening,” according to court documents, and warned: “This never happened. You’d better not tell.”

In doing a multitude of searches and checking sports related websites as well as news organizations in the metro Phoenix area, I can’t find any related stories that assault charges were ever filed against Green nor a complaint was filed by the alleged victim with local police in Scottsdale during the time of the alleged assault.
So whether this actually happened remains to be seen, however in this writer’s opinion, if in fact this assault happened, and with the prevalence toward LGBT violence, one would think Green’s accuser would have gone to the police to file a complaint.
Or that news would have “leaked” about the incident during the past year since the alleged assault took place.
Let’s face it the only place where leaks are more prevalent than sports is politics. So yes, this writer has his doubts the assault took place. Particularly since the alleged victim is also suing the City of New York as you will read in the article at the NY Daily News. But it does bring to mind and wonder about Green’s possible ”sexual interests”.
I’m sure it’s too early though to say “welcome to the club”.
